About
Greg Hannan is a British painter who is irrepressibly drawn to the human figure. His work is fuelled by forays in other directions, finding inspiration in surrealism and abstraction. He works in oil and acrylic, incorporating other media, driven by a deep-rooted love of drawing and the expressive possibilities of mark-making.
He grew up in England on the Kentish coast in Folkestone, studied philosophy in Bristol, and spent a decade in London, where he studied at Camberwell. He’s now based in Lisbon, where the coast sometimes reminds him of home.
