Self Portrait with Fonte da Perdiz

I was inspired for the composition by Lucian Freud's oblique self portraits. They give a feeling of the artist at the easel. The Portuguese wine is an attempt to connect to a new home, while the painting goes back to the cannonball that sits in the high street in Folkestone. I used to kick it as I child when I was out shopping and restless. For me it's a swirl of movement and searching and it's one of my favourites.
